Morning Joe Admit The BIG Problem With NYC Trump Case – WATCH
Donald Trump‘s critics have long been salivating over the prospect of criminal charges being brought against him. For years, the liberal media has been speculating and hyping the idea of Trump being “locked up“ and facing “the walls closing in.”
Now, however, it seems that their wish may be coming true. Reports indicate that the former president may be indicted in Manhattan this week in connection with an alleged hush–money payment to Stormy Daniels.
But the celebration may be somewhat muted. Several members of the Morning Joe panel, including Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, echoed one another in saying that this is “the weakest case“ against Trump.
The fear among Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media is that if Trump is able to paint this case as illegitimate, then all the other cases against him will be seen as weak as well. This is despite the fact that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has gone to extreme lengths to pursue this investigation, grand jury proceedings, and a possible trial.
Jonathan Lemire summarized the fear gripping Democrats and their major-media allies:
“I do think there is concern. Democrats I’ve spoken to, including some senior members of the White House, who do fear that because this case is weakest, that if it is brought first, that it will be potential–allow Trump to then paint this one as illegitimate, that it’s weak, and suggest that all of the other cases against him are as well. And that is something they’re worried about.”
Trump‘s critics may be overreacting, however. After all, the case against Trump is still a misdemeanor at its core and could only be upgraded to a felony via legal jujitsu. And, as McCarthy noted, the case is still quite weak.
In addition, Trump‘s opponents should remember that the former president has never been convicted of any crime, despite numerous attempts by his detractors to do so. Until that happens, Trump should be viewed as innocent until proven guilty.
