Deputies discovered that the child was given the doctored drink by a classmate during gym class. The victim, an 11-year-old student, reported taking a large sip of the drink before realizing it tasted bad and spitting it out. Shortly after, he developed a headache and nausea and had to be taken to the hospital. Thankfully, he has since been discharged and is doing well.
In a report by CBS affiliate KENS-TV, it was stated that Rossi’s son will also face disciplinary actions in accordance with the school’s policies on student conduct. This incident not only affected the victim but also Rossi’s own child, who will also have to face the consequences of his mother’s actions.
In her defense, Rossi told officials that she’s a nurse and knew that the mixture she made was nontoxic. She also reportedly takes full responsibility for what happened.
