MSM Ignores Antifa Violently Takeover A Hotel
You won’t hear about this on CNN or MSNBC even though the city of Olympia, Washington released a press statement that Antifa violently took over a hotel.
According to city officials police received a 911 call from people at the hotel saying a group was trying to take over the hotel. Employees reported that activists attempting to take over the hotel were armed with hatchets, batons, knives, and had gasmasks, helmets and goggles.
From the cities official statement to the media:
At about 11 a.m. today, people inside the Red Lion began calling 911 to report a group was attempting to forcibly take over the hotel. OPD received reports that the employees felt under threat from the group, and that an employee was allegedly assaulted.
Employees reported that some members of the activist group inside the hotel were armed with items such as hatchets, batons, knives and had gasmasks, helmets and goggles apparently in preparation for a confrontation. OPD estimated about 45 members of the group inside and outside of the hotel.
Forty rooms at the hotel were occupied by guests and had to shelter in place until the police were able to clear the hotel.
At the time of the occupation, approximately 40 rooms in the hotel were booked with guests who were bystanders to the incident. Those guests sheltered in their rooms during the occupation, and OPD is providing a safe place for them as the hotel is cleared.
The hotel has been an ongoing issue, far left activist group called “Oly Housing Now” with Antifa have used the hotel as a place to squat the homeless. They pay for homeless people to stay their for the night, then refuse to checkout and remain at the hotel without paying.
A local television station KIRO 7 reported that one employee was assaulted starting to stop the mob from entering the lobby, while the other employees escaped to the basement to hide.
“Making sure our unhoused residents have access to safe and affordable housing has been Olympia’s priority for more than a decade,” said Mayor Cheryl Selby. “Olympia has led on responding to homelessness, on coordinating shelter and other basic needs. The tactics used today by Oly Housing Now are unproductive and won’t make the mission more attainable.”
Let’s not forget there is someone who owns and operates this hotel, there are people that work at this hotel and they’ve just been attacked by violent groups.
“Making sure our unhoused residents have access to safe and affordable housing has been Olympia’s priority for more than a decade,” said Mayor Cheryl Selby. “Olympia has led on responding to homelessness, on coordinating shelter and other basic needs. Before the incursion at the hotel Oly Housing Now issued a list of demands:
- Thurston County Health Department must apply for FEMA funding and use it for COVID-19 prevention sites and non-congregate shelter for people who are 65 and older or who have preexisting health conditions.
- The city of Olympia must stop the sweeps and provide the encampments with resources to meet the COVID-19 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention hygiene recommendations, including overflow sites, isolation sites, protective housing, sanitation services, hygiene materials and 24-hour restroom facilities.
- The city of Olympia must use public first responder/public safety emergency housing in the form of hotel vouchers to support the houseless community in Olympia.
- The city of Olympia must increase impact fees on luxury and commercial properties in Olympia’s downtown.
- Thurston County and the city of Olympia must incentivize housing construction for people who meet the extremely low-income limit ($26,200 for a family of four).
Local media reports that seven people were arrested for various crimes including burglary and trespassing more arrests are expected.
This is what one of the local #antifa leaders is saying.
Ryan Endicott, aka “Arrow,” organized a similar siege in nearby Fife, Wash. in December. It did not get much media attention at time & reporters ignored the antifa ties. Look at Endicott’s forearm. https://t.co/QKfuNi1YbN pic.twitter.com/ZqjuxJL0bb
