MSM Reporter Pays The Price After Scrum With DeSantis
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is standing firm against the “woke mob” and their push to indoctrinate students into divisive concepts such as Critical Race Theory (CRT), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and their damaging impact on higher education and students.
On Monday, Governor DeSantis held a roundtable discussion with Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. and school choice advocate Christopher Rufo to discuss how DEI initiatives are damaging to education, and how no funding from hardworking, tax–paying Floridians should be spent on these divisive initiatives.
“In Florida, we are not going to back down to the woke mob, and we will expose the scams they are trying to push onto students across the country. Florida students will receive an education, not a political indoctrination,” DeSantis declared.
However, the press release for the event was met with a shocking response from Axios Tampa Bay Newsletter reporter Ben Montgomery, who referred to it as “propaganda, not a press release.”

Florida Department of Education communications director Alex Lanfranconi expressed disbelief in Montgomery’s response, while press secretary Bryan Griffin and deputy press secretary Jeremy Redfern questioned Montgomery’s position as a journalist.
Later in the day on Monday, Charlotte Klein confirmed that Montgomery had been fired from Axios over the email debacle.

Governor DeSantis’ stance against the “woke mob” has been consistent, as he recently sought to “debunk” the mainstream media narrative surrounding the “book ban hoax” in schools.
And, on Monday night, President Joe Biden appeared on Comedy Central and commented that “what‘s going on in Florida“ when it comes to transgender people is “close to sinful.”
In response, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis released a video that includes Biden‘s remarks and still photos of double mastectomy and skin graft scars. Biden didn‘t specify what policies he was criticizing, but it is likely referring to the ban on gender–transition surgeries and treatments for minors.
DeSantis fired back, tweeting “It is not ‘sinful’ to prohibit the mutilation of minors.” He continued, saying “It is not acceptable for the federal government to mandate that procedures like sex change operations be allowed for kids.”
