MSNBC Host Comments On Recent Report About Trump
MSNBC host Joy Reid sparked controversy this week with her critique of former President Donald Trump’s growing support among black and Hispanic voters.
As polls show Trump gaining ground with these demographics ahead of the upcoming election, Reid didn’t mince words, warning of a “fascist ground swell” that she claims is spreading even beyond the traditional Republican base.
Reid zeroed in on the apparent shift in voting patterns, especially among black and Hispanic men, suggesting that factors like sexism and disinformation campaigns may be driving their support for Trump. During her show, she argued that Republicans have succeeded in spreading disinformation, influencing not just their own base but even some Democrats.
She pointed to theories she described as outlandish, like the claim that Democrats manipulate weather or that Trump cannot lose the election—ideas she insists are finding traction among voters.
According to Reid, the polling shift in Trump’s favor isn’t just a reflection of these misinformation tactics but also a broader sociopolitical movement. She linked this phenomenon to a global rise in what she described as fascist tendencies, noting that while white men are the primary demographic driving this support, small but growing pockets of black and Hispanic men have also joined in.
Reid attributed this trend, in part, to societal shifts in gender roles, suggesting that as women gain economic independence and positions of power, some men feel drawn to more authoritarian leadership figures.
Reid’s remarks come as recent polling shows a tight race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, with an NBC News poll putting them neck-and-neck at 48% each. Trump has particularly strong support when it comes to handling immigration, where he leads Harris by a significant margin—56% to 31%.
In a broader polling average from RealClearPolitics, Harris holds a slight 1.4% lead over Trump, but this margin tightens when third-party candidates like Jill Stein, Cornel West, and Chase Oliver are factored in.
NEW: MSNBC’s Joy Reid launches new conspiracy theory, accuses *Republicans* of rigging the election, says America has been hit with a “fascist ground swell” of white men.
Reid said Republicans are laying the “groundwork for Insurrection 2.0.”
