Musk Makes Appearance At CPAC and Takes Questions
Well, folks, buckle up because things are about to get interesting. Elon Musk—yes, that Elon Musk—is making his debut at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Thursday afternoon. And if that alone didn’t shake things up enough, CPAC organizers threw everyone a curveball with the surprise announcement that Musk, now serving as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), would be delivering a special address to the crowd.
Now, Musk is no stranger to controversy. Since President Donald Trump’s return to the White House, he has become a lightning rod for Democratic outrage and relentless media attacks.
Why? Well, his role in DOGE has made him the face of an aggressive effort to gut wasteful government programs—particularly those tied to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and other left-leaning initiatives that have drained billions in taxpayer dollars. And let’s just say, the usual suspects in Washington aren’t too happy about it.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. CPAC is already a powerhouse event this year, featuring an all-star lineup that includes President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, immigration czar Tom Homan, and some of the most influential conservative voices in the country.
The energy is electric, and the message is clear—this administration isn’t wasting any time in reshaping Washington. Vance kicked things off with a packed-house speech, highlighting some of the biggest wins from Trump’s first full month back in office. And let’s be honest, there’s been no shortage of headline-making moves.
Meanwhile, DOGE has been making waves of its own. In just a few weeks, Musk’s agency claims to have slashed $44 billion in government waste. Yes, billion. And if you’ve been paying attention to how deeply entrenched bureaucratic spending has become, you know that’s no small feat. Programs that once funneled taxpayer dollars into bloated, ideologically driven initiatives? Gone. Federal agencies that operated with little oversight? Not anymore.

If so, who paid him? https://t.co/2OLjYo8eye

So, what exactly will Musk say in his speech? Well, that’s the million-dollar question—or, more accurately, the billion-dollar question. Will he take aim at the bureaucratic excesses he’s been dismantling? Will he call out the relentless media criticism he’s faced? Or will he double down on his vision for a more streamlined, results-driven government? One thing’s for sure—whatever he says, it’s going to have people talking.
