Nathan Wade Gives Interview
In a shocking turn of events, Nathan Wade, the scandal-plagued special prosecutor, has broken his silence and spoken publicly for the first time since resigning from the Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ case against former President Donald Trump.
The scandal, which revealed Wade’s relationship with Willis, created a major rift in the county’s high-profile election interference case, leading to his resignation as the top prosecutor. In his first interview since his resignation, Wade appeared unapologetic and defiant, despite the controversy surrounding his relationship with Willis.
During the interview with ABC News, Wade showed no signs of regret or remorse for his actions, particularly his relationship with Willis. In fact, he seemed to downplay the seriousness of the situation, stating that “workplace romances are as American as apple pie” and that it “happens to everyone.” He also pointed out that the scandal only happened because it involved two high-profile individuals, himself and Willis.
When asked if he was unhappy with how everything transpired, Wade was a little more willing to express some degree of regret, but he still maintained his guard. He stated, “I regret that the private matter between me and Ms. Willis became the focal point of this highly important prosecution. This case is of utmost importance, and I hate that my personal life has overshadowed the true issues at stake.” He also revealed that he had tried to put his feelings for Willis aside due to the gravity of the case, but his “feelings were too strong.”

However, when pressed on whether he should have recused himself from the case given his relationship with Willis, Wade was defensive. He stated that he considered that approach, but ultimately, his feelings for Willis clouded his judgment. “These feelings were developing, and I got to a point where they were so strong that I wanted to do things that were really none of the public’s concern,” he said. Despite admitting that removing himself could have been a possible solution, Wade’s actions showed that he put his personal interests above the public’s concerns.
The scandal surrounding Wade and Willis has not been limited to just their personal lives. Willis’ conduct has also been under scrutiny, with several sensational hearings held to examine her actions. Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee even reprimanded her for acting in an “unprofessional manner” and for a “tremendous lapse in judgment.” But while Wade’s estranged wife did make accusations of contempt of court against him in her divorce filing, he has not yet responded.
According to court papers, Joycelyn Wade accused her former partner of failing to pay $4,400 worth of her medical bills. She explained that she is unable to pay them herself because Wade stopped paying child support for their two children, and her medical condition has made it difficult for her to work and support herself.
Despite the accusations and reprimand, Willis managed to escape with just a slap on the wrist. In a dramatic ruling, Judge McAfee allowed her to remain on the Trump election interference case as long as Wade removed himself. This decision has raised questions about the objectivity and integrity of both Willis and Wade in handling such a crucial and high-profile case.
With the scandal and controversy surrounding their personal lives, it remains to be seen how it will affect the outcome of the Trump election interference case and the public’s trust in the criminal justice system. Only time will tell the full extent of the impact of this scandal and its aftermath.
