Netanyahu Comments On Protests
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed concern over the recent anti-Semitic demonstrations on American college campuses, calling them “horrific” and reminiscent of the events that occurred in German universities in the 1930s. In a two-minute video released on Wednesday, Netanyahu slammed the presidents of some of America’s most prestigious universities for their lack of action in quelling these protests.
Netanyahu specifically mentioned Columbia University, New York University, and Yale University, where anti-Semitic sentiments have been on the rise. He stated that these universities have been taken over by “anti-Semitic mobs” who call for the annihilation of Israel and attack Jewish students and faculty. He added that the response from several university presidents has been “shameful.”
The Israeli Prime Minister went on to thank federal, state, and local officials for taking more action against these anti-Semitic protests than the universities have. However, he stressed that more needs to be done to stop this surge of anti-Semitism, which is not only a threat to Israel, but also to America.
Netanyahu highlighted the fact that these anti-Semitic demonstrations are not just targeting Jews, but also threatening the safety and security of America. He stated that the protesters not only chant “death to Israel” and “death to the Jews,” but also “death to America.” This, he believes, is a sign of a larger problem that needs to be addressed before it escalates further.

The Israeli Prime Minister stressed that it is in America’s interest to fight against anti-Semitism as history has shown that it often precedes larger conflicts that can have global consequences. He called on both Jews and non-Jews to stand up against anti-Semitism, speak out against it, and take a stand to stop it.
Netanyahu’s concerns over the rise of anti-Semitism on American college campuses are shared by many, including Jewish organizations and leaders. They have been calling for universities to take a more proactive approach in addressing and condemning these hateful demonstrations.
Some universities have taken steps to address the issue, such as hosting events and discussions on anti-Semitism and ensuring the safety of Jewish students. However, others have been criticized for their lack of action, leading to concerns about the rise of hatred and discrimination on college campuses.
In response to Netanyahu’s remarks, a spokesperson for Columbia University stated that they have a strong commitment to inclusion and diversity and that they condemn all forms of bigotry, including anti-Semitism. Similarly, NYU released a statement expressing its support for the Jewish community and its commitment to creating a safe and inclusive campus.
The rise of anti-Semitism on American college campuses is a concerning issue that has sparked widespread debate and calls for action. It is imperative that universities take a stand against all forms of hate and discrimination and create an inclusive environment for all students. As Netanyahu stated, standing up against anti-Semitism is not just about protecting the Jewish community, but it is also about protecting America’s values and future.
