New Twist In Movie Shooting Put’s Baldwin Back In The Hot Seat
There’s a new twist in the shooting that occurred on Alec Baldwin’s movie set that claimed the life of Halyna Hutchins. The firearm was not just an on-set prop. The pistol in question was also being used off set when cameras weren’t rolling.
Multiple sources have revealed that the same gun fired by Alec Baldwin was being used by crews members off set for target practice.

The off the clock target practice was done with live ammunition off set but whoever last possessed the firearm didn’t clear it. It appears that no one cleared or checked to see if it was safe.
Reports from the crew say when police arrived live ammunition was found on site.
The reports confirms multiple points of failure before the firearm ended up in Baldwin’s hand and even he never checked to see if the firearm on safe.
Basic firearm safety is to make sure a weapon is safe before handling it and to never point a firearm at person unless you are intending to shoot them. If those tenants of firearm safety were followed none of this would have happened.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was the armorer and some in the media are questioning if she was responsible enough for the job. Below was a video found on her social media before she deleted it, WARNING GRAPHIC. Language.

Wouldn’t the “real issue” continue to be that #AlecBaldwin pointed a real firearm at a woman and pressed the trigger without taking the second or two required to ensure that conduct wouldn’t kill her? https://t.co/nVCd9jvcr3

There have been few deaths on set from prop guns and none of the recents accidents resulted in the use of live ammunition.
From Fox News:
A live round in a prop gun does not ordinarily occur absent negligence.
It has also been reported that most of the crew walked off the set because of the lack of safety protocols.
