Over Half the Democrats Question Biden’s Fitness for Office
Things are not getting any easier for President Joe Biden, he is now facing more turbulence as he enters his third year in the White House. There is growing concern over his mental ability to lead the country, and it’s coming from both sides of the political aisle.
According to a Harvard/ Harris 2024 survey, six in ten respondents have doubts regarding Biden’s mental capabilities. And 65 percent believe that the 80-year-old is “too old” to run the country.
What is somewhat surprising is that almost one-fourth of those who believe Biden is too old are Democrats.
The poll also discovered that 61 percent of the nation believes the country is heading in the wrong direction and 56 percent, a majority, have an unfavorable view of the president.
Less than half of the respondents actually believe that Biden has failed on major issues like immigration and the economy, and 37 percent approve of how he has handled the crisis at the southern border.
But 62 percent highly disapprove of the way he is “fixing” the economy.
The recent revelations about multiple classified documents being found in Biden’s office and home have caused his approval rating to slip even more than before.
According to a Quinnipiac University Poll, it found that 84 percent of Republicans and 41 percent of Democrats think Biden handled the classified documents inappropriately.
And 71 percent of the nation believes that this issue is very serious. 37 percent of the respondents believe that the president should face criminal charges.
And a CNN poll found that 8 in 10 Americans approve of the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the classified documents found at Biden’s Delaware home and his D.C. office.
Even with the poll being conducted by a liberal news outlet, only 18 percent believe that Biden is blameless in the situation, and 81 percent believe the president has at least done something unethical.
