Pelosi Unleashes Her Biggest Lie During The Pandemic Yet
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unleashed her biggest lie during the pandemic yet.
Over the weekend House speaker Pelosi slammed the President and claimed that the Democrats are going to fight for aid for local and state governments who need aid. She was responding to a request from Governor Larry Hogan demanding federal leaders “to provide immediate fiscal relief for the states.”
As chairman of the @NatlGovAssoc, today I issued the following statement with vice chair @NYGovCuomo to urge federal leaders to provide immediate fiscal relief for the states.

Our state and local governments are in crisis, and between emergency expenses and rising unemployment sapping revenue, they need an immediate infusion of funds to prevent the collapse of essential services. https://t.co/a7a9RFn2b5

On a bipartisan basis, governors are crying out for help and Congress must act. Democrats will continue to push for urgently needed funds for state and local governments in the interim emergency bill and #CARES2. #FamiliesFirst

The problem with what Pelosi said is that it’s all rhetoric, she has recessed the Congress and said that she’s not bringing them back until mid-May. That’s not fighting for people in crisis, that’s sticking your head in the sand and hunkering down at your San Franciso mansion. If Pelosi was fighting for local and state governments she would have the House working with the President on a daily basis.
Pelosi “signaled Thursday that the House is unlikely to return to session later this month, her clearest indication yet that Congress — like the rest of the country — could remain shuttered for weeks or even longer as the coronavirus crisis continues,” according to Politico.
It won’t be until mid-spring before Pelosi is planning on debating the fourth CARE plan, she’s not fighting for anyone. Before Pelosi cut the House loose McConnell attempted to get additional funding for small businesses. Pelosi slammed the door and said that there was no evidence that small businesses needed additional help. Ironically, here is what she posted on Monday:
Small businesses, hospitals, frontline workers and state & local governments across America are struggling to keep up with this crisis. They need more help from the federal government & they need it fast. #FamiliesFirst
