Police Report They Have Filed Charges After Guiffre Violated A Restraining Order
Virginia Giuffre, widely known for her involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew cases, is now at the center of a new controversy involving a misleading social media post and fresh legal trouble in Australia.
Giuffre, 41, was listed at Perth Magistrates Court just ten days prior to a car crash she later claimed had left her with fatal injuries. The charge involves an alleged breach of a family violence restraining order.
This comes amid a reportedly contentious separation from her husband of 22 years, Robert Giuffre, who himself appeared in the same court one month earlier over firearm storage violations.
The couple, now separated, no longer reside together in their Ocean Reef residence — a $1.9 million beachside property they purchased five years ago. The acquisition was completed shortly before Giuffre filed her high-profile lawsuit against Prince Andrew, which ended in a settlement reportedly worth $20 million.
Giuffre sparked widespread concern on Sunday night after posting an alarming message on Instagram, claiming she had been in a high-speed car crash involving a school bus and had only four days left to live due to kidney failure. She included a photo allegedly from her hospital bed and made an emotional plea to see her children.
However, within days, the narrative unraveled. Her spokesperson admitted the post was published publicly by mistake and clarified that Giuffre is not terminal. Medical sources confirmed she is not facing imminent death.
Western Australia Police stated the incident was a minor collision in Neergabby on March 24, with no reported injuries and damage to the car estimated at $2,000. Giuffre was a passenger in the vehicle, which was driven by a 71-year-old identified as her carer.
Posts leading up to and following the crash suggest ongoing emotional distress and a custody dispute. On March 22, Giuffre shared a message lamenting her separation from her children, describing her heart as “shattered” and expressing concern they were being turned against her.
While the police confirmed her hospitalization, they stated it was due to a pre-existing condition, not injuries sustained in the crash. She was later transferred to another facility following the release of the Instagram post.
