Promises Already Broken, Biden Is Bailing On Big Promise He Made During Georgia Run-Off (VIDEO)
Joe Biden hasn’t even been inaugurated and he’s already breaking promises he has made during the campaign.
On January 4th, Biden resounded that if Georgia voters elect Democrats to the Senate $2,000 stimulus checks would be sent out immediately.
Below is a video of Biden promising $2,000 stimulus checks the day before the Georgia Run-off.
Direct payments of $2,000 to Americans was backed by President Trump and supported by many politicians on both sides of the aisle however, ultimately it was blocked by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Many blame Republicans losing in Georgia because of McConnell’s position regarding the payments and feel if he passed the bill allowing $2,000 direct payments the GOP would have been victorious.
The first whims that $2,000 stimulus checks would not happen was when Senate Democrat, Joe Manchin (D-WV) said that he would not support $2,000 checks to Americans, claiming they aren’t important.
“Absolutely not. No. Getting people vaccinated, that’s job No. 1,” Manchin said. “How is the money that we invest now going to help us best to get jobs back and get people employed? And I can’t tell you that sending another check out is gonna do that to a person that’s already got a check.”
Record unemployment, businesses shut down and Manchin ponders how money in people’s bank accounts is going to help, give me a break. Keep in mind, Manchin had no problem with the ridiculous spending bill that sent billions overseas.
Biden’s new bill breaks his promise of $2,000 checks, the stimulus package he plans to push through Congress immediately upon taking office has a $1.5 trillion price tag and a commitment for $1,4000s stimulus checks to Americans.
From Reuters:
The stimulus package has a price tag above $1.5 trillion and includes a commitment for $1,400 stimulus checks, according to a source familiar with the proposal.
Who knows where all this money that we are spending is coming from but by breaking his promise minorities that voted for Biden are going to see this as a “Washington as usual” and as a betrayal.
