More Proof Comes From Kid That Turned His Father In That FBI Had Intelligence Well In Advance Of Unrest At The Capitol
Jackson Reffitt made headlines on CNN for turning his father in because he was involved in unrest at the Capitol building on January 6th.
During an appearance on CNN with Chris Cuomo they hailed him as a hero however, there was one little detail that the news network bypassed because it didn’t fit their narrative. Jackson had already called the FBI about his dad in the weeks leading up to January 6th because he was concerned.
The New York Times buried in the bottom of their report about Reffitt was one of the few that mentioned it. Reffitt said the was concerned when he learned that his father was “involved in something big.”
“He would always tell me that he’s going to do something big,” the younger Mr. Reffitt said in a phone interview on Saturday. “I assumed he was going to do something big, and I didn’t know what.”
From the New York Times:
“But he[Jackson] had already reported his father to the F.B.I. weeks before the riot.
It was not clear what, if anything, the Federal Bureau of Investigation did after Mr. Reffitt first contacted the F.B.I. about his father. Federal investigators contacted him during the riots to follow up on his tip from weeks earlier.
It’s very clear what the FBI did, nothing. With all of the intelligence we’ve found out the FBI acquired before the unrest at the Capitol, they did nothing.
The Washington Post reported that recent court documents have shown the FBI had intercepted communications that there was a high potential for unrest:
Self-styled militia members from Virginia, Ohio and other states made plans to storm the U.S. Capitol days in advance of the Jan. 6 attack, and then communicated in real time as they breached the building on opposite sides and talked about hunting for lawmakers, according to court documents filed Tuesday.
“While authorities have charged more than 100 individuals in the riots, details in the new allegations against three U.S. military veterans offer a disturbing look at what they allegedly said to each other before, during and after the attack — statements that indicate a degree of preparation and determination to rush deep into the halls and tunnels of Congress to make “citizens’ arrests” of elected officials.”
Democrats want to use the unrest at the Capitol to limit civil liberties but remember that it wasn’t a lack of intelligence that law enforcement was unprepared to deal with the unrest, it was the failure to act on the intelligence that caused them to be unprepared to deal with the situation properly.
