Report Give Trump Good News
Buckle up because we’ve got some intriguing news from the Peach State. A new survey shows former President Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden in Georgia, a key battleground state. This comes just ahead of the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle, set to take place this Thursday in Atlanta.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution survey, Trump is ahead by 5 points, securing 43% support from likely voters compared to Biden’s 38%.
Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. garnered 9% in the survey, while 8% of likely voters remained undecided. Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver and other options accounted for 3%.
Despite Kennedy not yet being on the ballot, his campaign is working to get him listed. Meanwhile, Biden and Trump will face off in a debate hosted by CNN at 9 p.m. on Thursday, which promises to be a pivotal moment in the campaign.
This survey alongside other recent surveys shows Trump consistently ahead in Georgia, a state he narrowly lost in the 2020 election by just 0.23%. According to RealClearPolitics, Trump is averaging a 5.6% lead over Biden in Georgia.
Interestingly, the survey indicates that Trump’s guilty verdict in his Manhattan “hush money” case is influencing voter opinion, particularly among independents. About one-third of independent voters surveyed said the conviction makes them less likely to vote for Trump.
On the other side, Biden appears to be losing support among key demographics that were crucial to his 2020 victory. His support among Black voters in Georgia has dropped to 70%, down from 88% in 2020. Additionally, Biden is struggling with young voters; only 12% of those aged 19 to 29 said they would vote for him.
The survey, conducted by the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs between June 11-22, surveyed 1,000 likely voters and has a margin of error of 3.1%.
With months to go before the election, these numbers show a volatile and competitive race ahead. Stay tuned, folks, as the political landscape continues to evolve. We’ll keep you updated on all the latest developments!
