Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert Makes Stunning Accusation About White House and Drugs – Watch
Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado is raising questions about the security of the White House after it was revealed that cocaine was found in the building last week.
Boebert, who is a vocal critic of President Joe Biden, tweeted on Tuesday that the discovery of cocaine at the White House was “not the first time drugs have been found there under this administration.”
“This is the third time that drugs have been found on the White House property since 2022, and we did not even hear about the marijuana,” she said. “I certainly did not hear about the marijuana that was found in 2022, two times, and now there’s cocaine on the property. So everything they do is to move along to the next story. They know there will be another Biden crime crisis.”
Boebert’s tweet came after the Secret Service confirmed that cocaine was found in a common area of the West Wing on Sunday. The substance was reportedly discovered by a Secret Service agent during a routine sweep of the building.
Boebert was one of the lawmakers who attended a closed meeting with the Secret Service about the investigation into the cocaine after House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-KY) asked for a briefing on the incident.
“I was informed in this morning’s SCIF meeting that the Cocaine Culprit investigation will be terminated with more than 500 potential perpetrators remaining,” Boebert tweeted. “We cannot allow this to happen. The American people deserve to know who smuggled cocaine into the White House!”
The Secret Service has not released any details about how the cocaine ended up at the White House, but Boebert is suggesting that it may have been brought in by someone with access to the building.
Some GOP have suggested that there is a cover-up: “Just left the most ridiculous meeting of all time with the Secret Service on the cocaine that was found in the White House,” Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett said after the briefing. “It turns out – they don’t know who did it. The investigation is going to be over at the end of the week, and they’re not going to find out who did it. And that’s basically it.”
“Another coverup,” he added. “You know, it’s the most secure building in the entire world. Nobody, not even the press, goes in there without them knowing.”
