Shake Up At The FDA Spotlights More Biden Incompetence
As the weeks go on the chaos inside the Biden administration is more evident.
There doesn’t seem to be any strong communication between entities inside the cabinet and that has caused two of the FDA’s top vaccine regulators to resign.
Biden is in a scramble because cases are rising around the country and not just in unvaccinated areas. Recently, health officials in Pittsburg announced that at least 30% of all new cases are breakthrough infections. The administration is trying to avoid an outbreak similar to the one in Israel which is one of the most vaccinated countries in the world. As a result Biden has authorized a third booster shot beginning September 20th.
That decision is causing a “potential mutiny” inside the FDA according to a report from Politico.
Check out this excerpt from Politico:
POLITICO spoke to 11 current and former health officials and people familiar with the matter who described growing exasperation with the administration’s disjointed process for implementing its booster plan. Those sources said there is little coordination between federal health agencies, even as two top FDA officials try to guide the rollout.
The chaos has caused Marion Gruber and Philip Krause, two of the FDA’s top vaccine regulators to resign.
What’s occurring inside the administration shows their incompetence and that they have no plan and everything they do is reactionary.
University of Pennsylvania infectious disease expert Paul Offit, who sits on the FDA’s vaccine advisory committee noted it was “the administration’s booster plan; it wasn’t the FDA’s booster plan” and that the “administration has kind of backed themselves up against the wall a little bit here.”
Politico pointed out that the Biden administration promised that they would let scientists lead the decisions not the White House but, that is no longer the case:
By contrast, Biden came into office promising that scientists would lead these decisions and messaging, not the White House — a pledge driven in large part by the politicization of vaccines and other public health measures leading up to the election.
Biden has certainly backed himself into a corner and there seems to be a lot of people that don’t want to go down with the ship.
