RNC Intervenes In Primary After More Mail In Ballot Shenanigans
The voting system in the State of Pennsylvania is a hot mess, one week after the election Republican voters still do not know who won the GOP Senate primary race.
At the center of the controversy are once again mail-in-ballots.
GOP candidate David McCormick has sued and that caused the Republican National Committee to get involved and take action against him; the whole contest is turning into a hot mess.
CONFIRMED: RNC official tells @townhallcom the @GOP is opposing David McCormick’s lawsuit against PA election officials and is against allowing undated ballots to be counted in the primary. Story tk.

After the votes were tallied on May 18, 2022, McCormick had the lead but as the Tuesday turned to Wednesday Dr. Oz had a 1,000 vote lead. That prompted an automatic recount because the final race results were within 0.5%.
On May 23, McCormick filed a lawsuit demanding that Pennsylvania officials count absentee and mail-in ballots EVEN if they were not filled out properly and violated state election code requirements.
From Townhall:
As the complaint alleges, some county election boards in Pennsylvania “refuse to count ballots where the voter failed to handwrite a date on the envelope but otherwise complied with all applicable requirements, and where the Boards stamped the envelope with the date the Boards received the absentee ballot.” McCormick further claims that such refusal to count ballots that don’t meet the requirements set forth in Pennsylvania “violates the protections of the right to vote under the federal Civil Rights Act and the Pennsylvania Constitution.”
Dr. Oz’s campaign staff are challenging the lawsuit and now Democrat “election fixer” Marc Elias is coaching McCormick’s legal team. Elias touted that he was preparing a similar lawsuit in case former President Trump won the state in 2020.
Interesting mess here. Big Dem election fixer Marc Elias, who ran 2016+ Russia collusion hoax & 2020 election destabilization effort (& tons of attempts to overturn elections), says McCormick is following his lead on how to qualify mail-in ballots that don’t comply with PA law. https://t.co/TjtZEuNcVj

That got the RNC involved.
“The RNC is intervening in this lawsuit alongside the Pennsylvania GOP because election laws are meant to be followed, and changing the rules when ballots are already being counted harms the integrity of our elections,” Matt Raymer, Chief Council for the RNC explained. “Either of Pennsylvania’s leading Republican Senate candidates would represent the Keystone State better than a Democrat, but Pennsylvania law is clear that undated absentee ballots may not be counted. This is another example of the RNC’s ironclad commitment to ensuring the highest standards of transparency and security are upheld throughout the election process.”
This is the second statewide election in a row in Pennsylvania that has turned into a complete mess.
