Romney Is At It Again: Trying To Thwart Senate Investigation Into FBI…He’s Protecting Biden
Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Chair Ron Johnson is calling out Republicans on his committee that are blocking subpoenas for key witnesses like former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan.
“We had a number of my committee members that were highly concerned about how this looks politically,” the Wisconsin GOP senator told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, who pressed Johnson to identify Republicans standing in the way of a wave of high-profile subpoenas.
Johson was pressed but would not name names.
However, a senior Republican Senate source leaked to Cassandra Fairbanks at the Gateway Pundit that Mitt Romney is trying to block Senator Ron Johnson from subpoenaing James Comey and John Brennan.
The deal is that Johnson doesn’t have unilateral power on his own — committee Republicans do. However, they need everyone on board. Romney refuses.

“Romney was for impeachment. He has been against Trump every step of the way. Now he is obstructing going after the leakers and liars who went after Trump,” the senior senate source said.
Johnson said that the obstruction he is facing had delayed his efforts, Politico reports:
Johnson said Republican resistance had delayed his effort to subpoena Blue Star Strategies, a Democratic public relations firm that did work for Burisma, the Ukrainian gas company that Hunter Biden served on the board of. He also cited the lengthy criminal investigations and the coronavirus pandemic for delaying his committee’s ability to get documents from the FBI, which he said were essential before seeking live testimony from central witnesses.
Johnson did disclose that he has yet to meet with US attorney John Durham who is leading the DOJ probe. He also said he doesn’t know if Durham has convened a grand jury yet.
Romney is trying to slow the investigation to prevent anything negative coming out about Obama and Biden before the November election. He’s also hoping that Biden will win in November and that all these investigations will be dropped.
