Ronna McDaniel Keeps Making a Case for Her Own Demise – Watch
Ronna McDaniel may have just cooked her own goose. She keeps making a case for her own demise as Republican National Committee chair.
She appeared on Fox News on Wednesday and she began ranting about how the GOP ground game “worked.” She bragged the Republicans flipped the House of Representatives.
“From an RNC standpoint, we flipped the House and our ground game worked,” she said.
But the 2022 mid-terms were a disaster for the Republican Party, in one of the most favorable political environments in several decades. The GOP actually lost seats in the Senate and picked up a tiny majority in the House.
McDaniel had very little to do with the House being flipped, it had much to do with Lee Zeldin in New York. And he did his work there with little support from the national party.
The other major factor that wasn’t McDaniel was Florida. Ron DeSantis fought like a panther against his own GOP legislature to make sure there was a good map for
Republicans in his state. And then he had a 20-point win for re-election which delivered 3 to 4 extra congressional seats.
Those two factors were the deciding ones, not McDaniels spam emails or her flights on private jets.
It’s fair to ask exactly what about her ground game worked.
She is walking among the ashes of a failed election cycle and proclaiming victory. Does she think we are stupid?
The RNC is certainly not the only problem for the GOP, but it is a major one and she has no right to stay in her position after the disaster in November.
If the voting members of the committee keep her as the chair, then the GOP deserves to lose the presidential election in 2024.
Ronna, do the right thing and step down.
