Scarborough Responds To Eric Trump Social Media Post
The hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” were left visibly stunned and audibly groaning after Eric Trump shared a controversial Memorial Day message on social media. Returning to the air on Tuesday, hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski couldn’t hide their disbelief as they discussed Eric Trump’s post on X, which quoted another message from the Trump family captioned, “The family that gave up everything to save America.” Eric Trump added, “And we will do it again!”
The panel, already engaged in a discussion about former President Donald Trump’s own inflammatory Memorial Day message, quickly incorporated Eric Trump’s post into their conversation. Willie Geist, one of the panelists, was the first to comment, referencing the backlash Eric Trump received. Geist said, “And it wasn’t just former President Trump, it was also his son, Eric, getting some well-deserved backlash over his social media post after one user posted a photo of the family with the caption ‘The family who gave up everything to Save America. Thank you!’”
Scarborough reacted with incredulity, nearly doubling over in his chair, exclaiming, “Oh my God, oh my Lord.” He also criticized Eric Trump for a since-deleted Instagram post that promoted a Memorial Day sale on Trump merchandise, sarcastically summarizing it as, “We are honoring our brave men and women this weekend. Please buy our stuff.”
And we will do it again!

Former President Donald Trump also stirred controversy with a lengthy Memorial Day statement on his platform, Truth Social. In his message, Trump attacked E. Jean Carroll and the judge involved in his civil rape case, referring to them as “Human Scum.” He criticized the judgment against him, which amounted to $91 million for defamation and sexual battery, although he was exonerated on the criminal rape charge. Trump wrote, “Happy Memorial Day to All, including the Human Scum that is working so hard to destroy our Once Great Country, & to the Radical Left, Trump Hating Federal Judge in New York that presided over, get this, TWO separate trials, that awarded a woman, who I never met before (a quick handshake at a celebrity event, 25 years ago, doesn’t count!), 91 MILLION DOLLARS for ‘DEFAMATION’.”
While the jury found Trump guilty of sexual battery and defamation in May, he was ordered to pay $83.3 million and posted a $91 million collateral bond pending an appeal of the judgment.
In contrast, Scarborough and Brzezinski highlighted President Joe Biden’s Memorial Day message as a demonstration of different leadership styles. Biden visited Arlington National Cemetery to commemorate the holiday. However, Biden has faced his own challenges related to fallen veterans. Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki recently retracted statements in her book denying that Biden checked his watch while the bodies of soldiers killed in Afghanistan were being unloaded from an aircraft. Additionally, Biden has been criticized for overshadowing a family who lost their daughter in Iraq by focusing on the death of his son Beau, whom he incorrectly claimed had died in Iraq rather than from brain cancer in the U.S.
The segment on “Morning Joe” underscored the stark differences in how the two administrations have approached Memorial Day, reflecting broader contrasts in their public personas and handling of sensitive issues.
