Speaking Wednesday, Enten highlighted results from an NBC News survey that found Trump holding a 100% approval rating among Republicans who identify as part of the MAGA movement. He emphasized the statistical significance of that figure, noting that it represents a ceiling of total support within that subgroup.
“You don’t have to be a mathematical genius to know you can’t go higher than 100%,” Enten said, underscoring the completeness of Trump’s backing among his core supporters. He compared the result to the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only team in NFL history to complete a perfect season, framing the data as a rare and definitive outcome.
The polling arrives amid ongoing commentary suggesting fractures within the MAGA coalition, particularly over issues such as U.S. involvement in Iran, the handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, and immigration policy.
Enten dismissed that narrative, clarifying that while some Republicans may express disapproval of Trump, those individuals do not identify with the MAGA base.
“The bottom line is this: if you are a member of MAGA, you approve of Donald Trump,” Enten stated.
He further noted that the size of the MAGA-aligned electorate is not diminishing. According to the same polling data, 30% of Americans now identify with the movement, a slight increase from 28% recorded in November 2024. That shift, while modest, indicates stability and incremental growth rather than contraction.
Enten also referenced commentary from conservative figure Tucker Carlson, who has criticized aspects of Trump’s foreign policy, particularly regarding Iran. Despite those critiques, Enten suggested such disagreements have not translated into measurable erosion within Trump’s core base.
“The bottom line is that the MAGA base within the GOP is not shrinking,” Enten said. “If anything, it is slightly larger than it was back in 2024.”
