Senator Graham Is Going To Lift The Veil If The House Votes To Impeach And Guess Who He’s Calling As A Witness
In the event, the House votes to impeach President Trump Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said on Wednesday that he is going to lift the veil on the House Intelligence Committee Chairman Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff.
During an interview with Fox News Sean Hannity, Graham was asked if the Senate would call Schiff as a witness. Graham responded saying, “As a matter of oversight, I’m not going to call a House member, but if you impeach the president of the United States, I want to find out if in fact Schiff and his staff met with the whistleblower.”
“So if there’s a trial in the Senate, one of the witnesses will be Adam Schiff because if he in fact did meet with the whistleblower and coach the guy up, I think that’s relevant to the impeachment inquiry itself,” Graham continued.
Graham was referring to the fact that the whistleblower Eric Ciaramella first met with Schiff before going to the Inspector General about the Ukrainian call.
It was reported by the New York Times that the staffer did share the whistleblower’s accusations with Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff. The New York Times report revealed that Schiff had previously lied when asked if he had previous contact with the whistleblower.
“We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to,” Schiff told MSNBC contributor Sam Stein when asked if the two had ever spoken. “But I am sure the whistleblower has concerns that he has not been advised, as the law requires, by the inspector general or the director of national Intelligence just how he is supposed to communicate with Congress, and so the risk to the whistleblower is retaliation.”
We now know that was all a lie. Schiff’s spokesperson responded saying Schiff should have “should have been more carefully phrased.”
“Regarding Chairman Schiff’s comments on ‘Morning Joe,’ in the context, he intended to answer the question of whether the Committee had heard testimony from the whistleblower, which they had not,” said the spokesperson. “As he said in his answer, the whistleblower was then awaiting instructions from the acting [director of national intelligence] as to how the whistleblower could contact the Committee. Nonetheless, he acknowledges that his statement should have been more carefully phrased to make that distinction clear.”
Democrats have defended Schiff saying that whistleblowers often reach out to the Intelligence Committee and that Schiff didn’t know the identity of the whistleblower or what was in the complaint. Lawyers for the whistleblower Eric Ciaramella (and if you ever wonder we will write his name as many times as we want whenever we want because this is America) say also claim Ciaramella never met with Schiff.
There is nothing I would like more than for Schiff to testify lie and get prosecuting for lying under oath.
