Senator Lindsey Graham Hits AOC Where It Hurts
On Tuesday before the PResident’s State of the Union speech Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) announced that she is not going to attend the speech. After her announcement, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) hit her right where it hurts.
On Tuesday, AOC said, “After much deliberation, I have decided that I will not use my presence at a state ceremony to normalize Trump’s lawless conduct & subversion of the Constitution. None of this is normal, and I will not legitimize it. Consequently, I will not be attending the State of the Union.”
Then in an effort not to judge other Democrat members, she followed up saying, “This is a deeply personal decision for each member to make, and a choice I did not take lightly.”
After much deliberation, I have decided that I will not use my presence at a state ceremony to normalize Trump’s lawless conduct & subversion of the Constitution.
None of this is normal, and I will not legitimize it.
Consequently, I will not be attending the State of the Union.

AOC wasn’t the only member of congress that decided not to attend Representatives Frederica Wilson of Florida, Steve Cohen of Tennessee, Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts boycotted as well.

Fellow “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar – who’s currently under investigation – said that she would attend as a form of resistance. Omar also claimed the President is not a “legitimate” President.
I am attending tonight’s address not to confer any legitimacy on his actions, his statements, or his presidency.
I am attending on behalf of all of those targeted by this President to say, ‘We are greater than hate.’

Senator Graham had a great response to AOC deciding not to attend and said, “Can’t blame Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for boycotting the State of the Union…..Must e painful for a committed socialist to hear the RECORD accomplishments regarding economic growth and prosperity we have achieved under President Trump!”
