Senator Warren Releases Statement Following Incident In LA
President Donald Trump’s decision to send hundreds of National Guard troops to Los Angeles in response to escalating protests over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids has drawn swift and divided reactions from lawmakers across party lines.
The deployment began over the weekend, with an initial contingent of 2,000 National Guard personnel dispatched to assist federal agents and local law enforcement in managing the unrest.
The riots in Los Angeles prove that we desperately need more immigration enforcement personnel and resources.
America must reverse the invasion unleashed by Joe Biden of millions of unvetted illegal aliens into our country.

The action came as demonstrators in Los Angeles took to the streets, protesting the ICE raids and the administration’s broader immigration enforcement policies. Protest activity escalated to property damage, blocked roads, and clashes with law enforcement.
By Monday, the administration had reinforced the operation, sending an additional 2,000 California National Guardsmen and several hundred U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton.

Democratic lawmakers, particularly from California, were quick to condemn the move. Governor Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit Monday, alleging that the federal government bypassed proper protocol by deploying military forces without state approval. Newsom accused the administration of violating constitutional norms, arguing that state sovereignty was being undermined.
Additionally, statements from representatives such as Elizabeth Warren and Maxine Watters further illustrate the sentiments from Democratic lawmakers.
Donald Trump’s deployment of the military in Los Angeles over the objection of California leaders is an abuse of power and a dangerous escalation.
It’s what you would see in authoritarian states and it must stop.
Americans have the right to speak out and peacefully protest.
