Special Election In Deep Blue City Stronghold Leaves Democrats Shellshocked
Democrats are floored after losing a grassroots recall election in the deep blue city of San Francisco California.
Even in places like San Francisco parents are fed up with their school board. In a special election residents overwhelmingly dumped Alison Collins, Faauuga Molina, and Gabriella Lopez.
“Every vote counts and I, myself, am a San Francisco native. I’ve seen this city change so much, so I definitely want my voice to be heard,” said San Francisco voter Derrick Ly.
“They are so egregiously incompetent,” says Paulina Fayer, who supports the recall. “We need to get them out now, and we have. The voters have spoken.”
Parents were frustrated with the school system during the pandemic and their failure to open schools. Even the Washington Post admitted that parents in the uber left city were upset over “a series of divisive moves aimed at racial equity that critics say were ill-advised, particularly for a period when schools were closed and academic and emotional damage to the city’s children was accruing.”
From the Washington Post:
The board engaged in a series of divisive moves aimed at racial equity that critics say were ill-advised, particularly for a period when schools were closed and academic and emotional damage to the city’s children was accruing. For instance, it spent months deliberating the renaming of 44 schools after a committee found their namesakes had connections to slavery, oppression and racism, though many of the alleged ties were thin or, in some cases, historically questionable or inaccurate.
Even the city’s Mayor endorsed the recall.
Below is the official statement released by Mayor London Breed:
“The voters of this City have delivered a clear message that the School Board must focus on the essentials of delivering a well-run school system above all else. San Francisco is a city that believes in the value of big ideas, but those ideas must be built on the foundation of a government that does the essentials well. I want to recognize all the parents who tirelessly organized and advocated in the last year. Elections can be difficult, but these parents were fighting for what matters most – their children. The days ahead for our public schools will not be easy.”
“Our kids have suffered tremendously during this pandemic, dealing with serious learning loss and significant mental health challenges. It’s time we refocus our efforts on the basics of providing quality education for all students, while more broadly improving how this City delivers support for children and families.”
The election has sent shockwaves through the DNC who have continued to support off the rails school boards and teachers unions over parents. If parents are fed up with woke politicians in San Fransisco just imagine what it’s like in the rest of the country.
