Texas Congresswoman Releases Statement Following Amid Texas Legislators Decision
Oh, Representative Jasmine Crockett. If nothing else, she’s consistent — consistently loud, consistently inflammatory, and consistently off the rails. This time, she’s joined her fellow Texas Democrats in their latest Houdini act, fleeing the state to avoid voting on a redistricting plan they don’t like.
But Crockett, never one to simply fade into the background, took it a step further by laughing off Republican resolve and branding them as “weak.” That’s right — Democrats run for the exits, scatter across the country, and somehow, in her telling, it’s the GOP who are the cowards here.

And then came the part that really turned heads. Crockett didn’t just do the usual political bluster; she went full street-fight mode. “Not only are we going to punch back, but we about to beat you down,” she declared, promising that her party isn’t going to play the “nice guys” anymore. It’s one thing to posture, but when elected officials start tossing around what sounds an awful lot like threats of violence, that’s when the alarm bells should start ringing.
Because here’s the thing — this isn’t happening in a vacuum. Studies have shown that a troubling culture of political violence has been brewing on the left, one that has already contributed to actual assassination attempts on elected officials, including a sitting President.
And yet, this is the same Jasmine Crockett who had the gall to tell Hasan Minhaj, with a straight face, that “violence doesn’t come from Democrats.” Really? Not even a little? Because threatening to “beat down” political opponents sure sounds violent to anyone outside of her echo chamber.
But Crockett’s brand of rhetoric isn’t happening in isolation. Rep. Julie Johnson joined in, declaring the fight over redistricting an “all-out war.” California Governor Gavin Newsom jumped into the chorus too, vowing to “fight fire with fire.”
Here’s the absurdity of it all: these lawmakers are holed up in safe hiding places, avoiding the jobs their constituents elected them to do, and simultaneously talking tough like they’re gearing up for some bare-knuckle brawl. It’s like someone running three blocks away from a fight and shouting, “I’ll wreck you!” while peeking around the corner.
And don’t forget — this is the same Crockett who mockingly referred to Governor Greg Abbott, a man in a wheelchair, as “Governor Hot Wheels.” Her party just spent $20 million trying to figure out why voters think Democrats look “weak.” Well, Jasmine, this isn’t helping.
