Texas Governor Abbott Blesses Another Great American City…Watch the Mayor’s Reaction
Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) is back in the batter’s box and ready to swing for the fence again. He announced this week that the Texas Department of Public Safety is loading up some more buses and sending migrants to another American city.
These migrants have been processed and released by the Border Patrol and then sent to Windy City, Chicago.
In the midst of an unprecedented border crisis in their state, Texas has now given the migrants an option of three cities across the nation: Washington, D.C., New York City, and now Chicago.
“President Biden’s inaction at our southern border continues putting the lives of Texans—and Americans—at risk and is overwhelming our communities,” said Abbott. “To continue providing much-needed relief to our small, overrun border towns, Chicago will join fellow sanctuary cities Washington, D.C. and New York City as an additional drop-off location. Mayor Lightfoot loves to tout the responsibility of her city to welcome all regardless of legal status, and I look forward to seeing this responsibility in action as these migrants receive resources from a sanctuary city with the capacity to serve them.”
The first round of buses dropped off the migrants in Chicago at Union Station. Most of them were from the country Venezuela. At first, there was no one there at the station to help them, but a bus finally came to take the group to a homeless shelter.
Outspoken Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot said that she welcomes the group to the city. But she had some intense words for the Texas governor. Lightfoot said that Abbott’s actions show how “racism, discrimination, and human cruelty have played a pivotal role in how migrants are received within our borders and we are still working to recover from the previous administration.”
Since Chicago is so welcoming, Texas should load up another bus.

The first two buses of migrants from Texas arrived at Chicago’s Union Station this evening. Many of them told me they’re from Venezuela. They said they were expecting someone to be here to help them when they arrived, but there isn’t anyone here. pic.twitter.com/2ExPLEtQIa
