The NYT’s Is So Out Of Touch They Create A Fake Story That Will Help Pres Trump Not Hurt Him
The New York Times wrote a story claiming that Attorney General Bill Barr considered lodging charges against the wacky liberal mayor of Seattle, Jenny Durkan.
The Times wrote:
The attorney general has also asked prosecutors in the Justice Department’s civil rights division to explore whether they could bring criminal charges against Mayor Jenny Durkan of Seattle for allowing some residents to establish a police-free protest zone near the city’s downtown for weeks this summer, according to two people briefed on those discussions.
In a statement, Brian Moran, US attorney for the Western District of Washington and Attorney General Barr strongly denied the allegation.
“Throughout this lengthy period of civil unrest, I have had multiple conversations with Department of Justice leadership. They have asked for information about protest activity devolving into violence, about federal interests implicated by the Capitol Hill Organized Protest, and about the cases filed in this District regarding federal crimes.
“At no time has anyone at the Department communicated to me that Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan is, was, or should be the subject of a criminal investigation or should be charged with any federal crime related to the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP). As U.S. Attorney I would be aware of such an investigation,” Moran said.
The New York Times was claiming that Barr was attempting to charge the mayor with sedition.
The Times is trying to make Barr look like an out of control prosecutor however I think if you asked Americans they would approve Durkan being arrested.
Durkan needs to be held accountable for allowing CHAZ/CHOP ( or whatever the hell they called it) to even happen. A group of activists took over a police station, a park, and other people’s property. The activists ended up killing people and destroying businesses.
If Barr decided in some form or fashion to prosecute the mayor I don’t think the majority of Americans would care. This just goes to show you how out of touch the Times is, Americans on both sides of the aisle want these violent riots stopped.
The riots that have gone this summer have caused over $2 billion in damage across 20 states, which is the highest in US history. Charge them all!
