The Vax Rebellion Begins To Sting: From Boeing To Mercedes Workers Aren’t Budging
“We’re going to lose a lot of employees over this,” said Cornell Adams, head of the local Machinists union district.
Adams was referring to the roughly 5,000 workers in Wichita, Kansas that work for Textron Inc And Spirit AeroSystems who are defying the mandate.
Adams noted that many of the workers are pro vaccine they just refuse to comply with the mandate because they believe the government is meddling in public health decisions.
Unlike other unions that are going along with Biden the Machinists Union is preparing to hire lawyers to help employees who are fired.
The life-long Democrat and union member said that the party will “never get another vote from me and I’m telling the workers here the same thing.”
Biden’s vaccine mandate for federal contractors is almost a month away and the administration is days away from announcing an OSHA rule requiring vaccines for companies with over 100 employees.
Boeing reported that more than 7,00 workers have applied for religious exemptions and 1,00 are seeking medical exemptions.
Mercedes-Benz USA has also implemented a vaccine mandate requiring employees to be vaccinated by January 4, 2022. Less than half of their USA workers are vaccinated and many are willing to walk off the job.
On top of that the CDC is causing even further confusion because they are refusing to take previous infections into account which is giving employers headaches. Republicans are getting fed up, Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Diana Harshbarger are putting forward legislation to acknowledge natural immunity.
From the Washington Post:
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-Tenn.) have put forward legislation to take such immunity into account. Harshbarger’s Natural Immunity is Real Act would require federal agencies to “acknowledge, accept, agree to truthfully present, and incorporate, the consideration of natural immunity as it pertains to COVID-19 with respect to the individuals subject to the applicable regulations.”
The two lawmakers and co-sponsors of the legislation have argued that the Biden administration must “follow the science” showing that people who have recovered from covid-19, the disease caused by the virus, have durable immunity.
“Now more than ever, we need to pursue every scientific measure — such as natural immunity — that can help mitigate the pandemic without threatening people’s jobs, our economy, or denying Americans access to everyday life activities based on COVID-19 vaccination status,” Harshbarger said in a news release last month announcing the bill.
What is clear is that the American worker is fed up and they are only going to get more incensed when the CDC demands a person gets their 5th booster (sarcasm…for now).
