‘The View’ Host Defends Haley, Panel Goes Nuts
In what can only be described as a heated exchange, former Governor Nikki Haley (R–SC) was the topic of debate on Tuesday’s episode of “The View” when she announced her plan to seek the Republican nomination for President in 2024.
Co–host Alyssa Farah Griffin was the lone voice of support for Haley, lauding her for her willingness to take on former President Donald Trump. However, her co–hosts were less than enthused.
Whoopi Goldberg accused Haley of “losing her mind” and Joy Behar accused her of being “mentally crazy” and an “election denier.” The criticism didn’t stop there. Sara Haines took issue with Haley’s characterization of Senator Bernie Sanders (I–VT), Vice President Kamala Harris, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D–CA) as part of the “socialist left.”
Sunny Hostin then attacked Haley for failing to get rid of the Confederate flag in South Carolina before a mass shooting at a church.
Griffin valiantly stood her ground, arguing that the American people deserved two strong parties from which to choose—and that Haley’s inclusion made Republicans stronger.
However, it appears the co–hosts of “The View” failed to consider the fact that Haley has been a vocal advocate for conservative policies and has a long and impressive record of public service. She has served as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and as the Governor of South Carolina.
It’s clear that Haley’s candidacy should not be written off so easily. She may not be the perfect candidate, but she is a strong contender who is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Haley has the potential to be a strong leader and the Republican Party should take her candidacy seriously.
