‘The Views’ Sunny Hostin Calls Women Who Vote Republican What? Come On! – Watch
“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin did it again. This time she went ballistic on women who vote for Republicans. She compared them to vermin who ask for their own extermination.
This crazy comment came amid a discussion on the 2022 midterm election. Hostin whined about white, suburban women who are favoring the GOP despite the overturn of Roe v. Wade.
She could have just acknowledged that inflation is more important to voters than the abortion issue at present. But instead, she decided to lash out at women who vote for a GOP candidate.
“What’s also surprising to me is the abortion issue. I read a poll just yesterday that white Republican suburban women are now going to vote Republican,” Hostin said. “It’s almost like roaches voting for Raid.”
“They’re voting against their own self-interest. Do they want to live in Gilead?” she asked, referencing “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, the panel’s token Republican member, shot back at Hostin and pointed out the irony of her remark. She said it exemplified the type of “anti-democratic” rhetoric that Democrats say is dangerous.
“Do we love democracy or not because just saying that— it’s insulting to the voter,” Farah Griffin shot back. “People make decisions about what’s right for their family and the idea that you should have a say for everyone else’s vote.”
“You had a different view on abortion not that long ago, and you evolved on it,” Griffin pointed out. “But then why is another woman not allowed to have a different view?”
“I am very surprised that white, Republican, suburban women are voting against their own health care,” Hostin responded. “I have not really recently evolved on the issue. I am Catholic — that is my faith. I believe that abortion is wrong — for me. There’s a separation between government and church, and I do not have the right to tell someone else. However, they are voting against their own self-interest.”
Griffin held her ground against Hostin. But she’s just one voice on that angry panel.
