Trump Announces Several More Nominations
President-elect Donald Trump continues to shape his administration with key appointments, emphasizing loyalty, legal expertise, and an “America First” philosophy. Among the latest announcements is Alina Habba, a prominent attorney and long-time ally, who will serve as Counselor to the President.
In his announcement on Truth Social, Trump praised Habba’s unwavering support and resilience during challenging times, calling her a “tireless advocate for justice” and a “role model for women in law and politics.”
Habba, a first-generation American of Middle Eastern heritage, brings both legal acumen and a personal story that resonates with many. Recently named Chaldean Woman of the Year, she has been a visible figure in Trump’s legal battles and campaign efforts. Responding to the announcement, Habba expressed her gratitude, stating, “Honor of my life to serve the 45th and 47th President of the American people.”
Trump also unveiled major nominations for his foreign policy team. Christopher Landau, who served as U.S. Ambassador to Mexico during Trump’s first term, has been tapped as Deputy Secretary of State.
Landau’s tenure was marked by significant achievements, including historic reductions in illegal migration through strong bilateral cooperation. He will join Secretary of State nominee Marco Rubio, forming a team aimed at advancing American security and prosperity on the global stage.
Additionally, Michael Needham, a trusted ally of Rubio, will serve as Counselor of the Department of State, while Michael Anton returns to government as Director of Policy Planning at the State Department. Anton, who played a pivotal role in articulating Trump’s “America First” foreign policy during his first term, brings a blend of government, private sector, and academic experience to the role.
In a flurry of posts on Truth Social, Trump congratulated Wisconsin GOP Chairman Brian Schimming on his reelection, crediting him for Republican victories in the state, including Trump’s own 2024 win.
“Brian is MAGA all the way,” Trump wrote, expressing confidence in Schimming’s leadership to grow the movement further.
The appointments reflect Trump’s commitment to assembling a team steeped in loyalty, experience, and ideological alignment. From Habba’s steadfast defense of Trump during tumultuous legal battles to the foreign policy expertise of Landau, Rubio, and Anton, the administration is clearly focused on implementing its ambitious agenda.
