Trump Comments On Liz Cheney Appearing with Harris
Former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in his latest critique of the Cheney family, taking aim at both former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter, Liz Cheney. Trump slammed the former vice president’s foreign policy decisions and suggested that the Cheneys are no longer welcome in today’s Republican Party. His comments came shortly after both Dick and Liz Cheney announced their support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election.
Trump’s remarks were characteristically blunt: “Her father, Dick, was a leader of our ridiculous journey into the Middle East, where Trillions of Dollars were spent, millions of people were killed – and for what? NOTHING,” he said.
Trump then pointedly added, “Well, today, these two fools, because the Republican Party no longer wants them, endorsed the most Liberal Senator in the U.S. Senate, further Left than even Pocahontas or Crazy Bernie Sanders – Lyin’ Kamala Harris.” He went on to label them a “pathetic couple,” claiming they are “both suffering gravely from Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Liz Cheney, a long-time critic of Trump and former member of the House committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riot, appeared on the campaign trail alongside Kamala Harris in Wisconsin. Speaking in Ripon, the birthplace of the Republican Party, Cheney urged voters to reach across the aisle in November and support Harris.
She emphasized a message of unity, saying, “We may disagree on some things, but we are bound together by the other thing that matters to us as Americans more than any other, and that is our duty to our Constitution and our belief in the miracle and the blessing of this great nation.”

Cheney didn’t mince words about her opposition to Trump, calling on the audience to “reject the depraved cruelty of Donald Trump” and to support Harris’s bid for the presidency instead. This move represents a stark break from traditional Republican allegiances, as Cheney continues to distance herself from Trump’s influence on the party.
Trump’s feud with Liz Cheney is not new; he has often criticized her publicly since she took a leading role in the investigation into the events of January 6th. Speaking to Fox News, Trump dismissed Cheney’s political relevance, saying, “Well, Liz Cheney lost for Congress. She was terrible. Liz Cheney is a stupid war hawk. All she wants to do is shoot missiles at people. I really think it hurts — I think, frankly … I think they hurt each other. I think they’re so bad, both of them.”
In a surprising turn, Harris has been actively courting disaffected Republicans on the campaign trail. This effort has included the launch of the “Republicans for Harris” group, led by former Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan. Harris has emphasized the importance of returning to a more constructive political environment, telling supporters, “We may not see eye to eye on every issue, and we are going to get back to a healthy two-party system — I am sure of that — where we will have vigorous debates.”
Harris’s outreach to Republicans is part of a broader strategy to appeal to moderate and conservative voters who feel alienated by the current direction of the GOP under Trump’s leadership. She framed this approach around shared values, stating, “We both love our country and revere our democratic ideals. And we both also believe in the nobility of public service. And we know that our oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America is a sacred oath.”
