Trump Lawyers File New Motion Making Serious Allegations
Former President Donald Trump’s legal team filed a 68-page court document on Wednesday alleging that Special Counsel Jack Smith concealed evidence about his office’s collaboration with the Biden administration. This filing was made in the ongoing Florida case concerning Trump’s handling of concealed documents related to the investigation into his 2016 campaign.
According to the filing, Trump’s lawyers obtained heavily redacted documents through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request that indicated “politically motivated operatives in the Biden Administration and the National Archives and Records Administration” were involved in driving the classified documents probe since 2021. The lawyers are now asking the judge to force Smith to produce any “additional evidence of bias and political animus” and to un-redact the documents in question.
In their filing, Trump’s legal team accuses the Special Counsel’s Office of disregarding “basic discovery obligations and DOJ policies in an effort to support the Biden Administration’s egregious efforts to weaponize the criminal justice system.” They claim that the Office has been working towards an objective that President Biden cannot achieve on the campaign trail, which is to slow down Trump’s potential 2024 presidential campaign.
The filing also alleges that the FOIA documents “illustrate that the Office has disregarded fundamental fairness and its legal obligations in favor of partisan election interference.” Trump’s lawyers argue that these details “add force to President Trump’s long-held position regarding the scope of the prosecution team.”
The FOIA releases were obtained as part of a request made by Trump’s team and they reportedly reflect close participation in the investigation by entities such as NARA, the White House Counsel’s Office, and senior officials at DOJ and FBI. According to the filing, these revelations are “disturbing but not surprising.”

Trump’s lawyers also stated that their client would dispute the Office’s claims that his Mar-a-Lago resort was not secure and that there was a risk of compromised materials stored there. As part of the ongoing legal battle, Trump’s team has requested various disclosures from the Special Counsel’s Office, including any communications with the Biden administration, evidence of bias in the intelligence community, and evidence of “improper coordination” with NARA.
The former president’s legal team has accused the Special Counsel’s Office of disregarding “fundamental fairness” and “legal obligations” in its pursuit of Trump. They also argue that the Office has been influenced by the Biden administration and its efforts to impede Trump’s political aspirations.
Trump’s team has requested that the documents obtained through the FOIA request be unredacted and that Smith produce any additional evidence of bias or political interference. They have also asked for evidence of coordination with the Biden administration and other entities.
As this legal battle continues, it remains to be seen how the judge will rule on Trump’s requests and what impact this information will have on the ongoing investigation into his campaign. However, this latest filing from Trump’s team has shed new light on potential collaboration between the Special Counsel’s Office and the Biden administration, which could further fuel accusations of political interference.
