Trump Uses Star Wars Reference to Sucker Punch Fox and Friends
Former President Donald Trump’s cozy relationship with Fox News’s flagship morning program no longer has the force with them. Trump lashed out at the hosts of Fox and Friends because their coverage of his polling focused on a potential run for the presidency again in 2024.
“@foxandfriends just really botched my poll numbers, no doubt on purpose,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. This is the social network platforming he started after leaving office. “That show has been terrible — gone to the ‘dark side.’ They quickly quote the big Turning Point Poll victory of almost 60 points over the number two Republican, and then hammer me with outliers.”
These former allies now have moved to the “dark side?”
The network covered the new Turning Point USA poll which was released on Sunday. It showed the former president was well ahead of every other potential Republican primary challenger.
But host Steve Doocy said that the poll was different than several other polls that they had seen over the past couple of weeks. He was referencing other national polls that have Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) ahead of Trump in several age demographics.
Co-host Brian Kilmeade added, “If you look state by state, Ron DeSantis is showing tremendous strength in New Hampshire, Michigan and Florida.”
Trump did not like their pro-DeSantis comments. He took a shot at “RINO Paul Ryan,” who now sits on the board of Fox Corp. Trump said he was “one of the weakest and worst Speakers EVER.” He also suggested the former congressman “must be running the place.”
These comments from Trump come right on the heels of several Murdoch-owned newspapers like The New York Post and The Wall Street Journal writing editorial posts that criticized the former president. They said that he is “unworthy” of another term in the White House.
What is Trump going to watch in the morning now?
