Two Clips From Trump Interview Released
In a pair of unaired clips from Sunday’s Meet the Press, President Donald Trump reignited his long-standing feud with mainstream media and issued a scathing critique of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, delivering a blend of defiance and pointed accusations that could’ve easily stolen headlines—if they hadn’t been left on the cutting room floor.
The exchange with NBC’s Kristen Welker began with Trump pushing back hard against what he called the “fake” nature of legacy media. “Even the way you ask questions,” he charged, “every question is asked in a negative vein.”
Welker, attempting to maintain neutrality, assured the former president that the network strives for fairness. But Trump wasn’t having it. “You should ask some positive things,” he retorted. “Like, ‘Sir, it’s amazing what you’ve done with gasoline.’”

Trump was referencing what he framed as a historic drop in gas prices—a claim he attributed to a renewed national emphasis on drilling. “Drill, baby, drill!” he exclaimed. “We’re drilling like crazy right now.” His tone, a familiar mix of combative and boastful, underscored a broader strategy: flipping the narrative back onto the press and positioning himself as a misunderstood architect of economic success.
But it wasn’t just media criticism on display. In another clip that failed to make the final cut, Trump leveled sharp allegations at Pelosi, accusing her of enriching herself through insider knowledge while serving in Congress.
“She worked for $175,000 a year, and she’s worth $150, $200 million?” he asked pointedly. “You ought to look at Nancy Pelosi and some of these politicians that are stone cold crooks.”

When pressed about the possibility that he, too, may have profited from his presidency, Trump dismissed the idea and spun it as a comparative loss. “Being president probably cost me money,” he said. “If I own stock and the stock market goes up, I guess I’m profiting. But who really profits is somebody like Nancy Pelosi.”
