Wall Street Journal Releases Poll Showing How Democrats Really Feel About America
This information from a recent Wall Street Journal poll of registered voters in America is beyond belief and it ought to impact how every one of us voted in the midterm elections.
The WSJ poll found that while a huge proportion of Republicans think that the United States is the greatest nation on earth, a much smaller proportion of Democrats hold the same values.
A total of 91% of Republicans agree that the United States is the greatest nation.
But only 61% of Democrats share the same sentiment towards this country.
85% of Republicans believe that hard work will get you ahead in America, while only 53% of Democrats believe in the same way. Maybe that is why they have been so quick to give handouts and cancel debts.
Ironically, 55% of Democrats believe that the present generation will have a better opportunity than the preceding generation, and only 34% of Republicans feel the same way.
And 61% of Republicans feel as though they are the people group in elites in this country look down on, but only 40% of Democrats share that same perspective.
The poll was carried out last month from August 17 – 25 by Impact Research and Fabrizio, Lee & Associates, according to the Wall Street Journal.
“People who complain about not getting ahead often aren’t willing to put the time and effort in, and they’re looking for the easy way out,” GOP poll participant Melinda O’Neil said, according to the Journal. “You can’t expect people to give you things,” she noted. “You have to earn it. A lot of that is just showing up.”
“There are so many socioeconomic differences in the country,” said Chelsea Carter, a Democrat who took part in the poll. “It really depends where you were born on the strata,” she said. “When you really look at what has given you a leg up, it is people who were able to support and supplement my life in a way that isn’t fair,” she remarked.
