Want to Know the Real Reason for GOP Lackluster Performance – Follow the Money
The runoff election for the Senate in Georgia was the last kick in the gut for the Republican Party. People all over the country are trying to figure out all the reasons why the GOP underperformed in 2022.
Some are focusing on the candidate’s quality, some blame Mitch McConnell and the way he chose to disperse money. Others focus on Kevin McCarthy and still others like to blame former President Donald Trump.
There is one issue that nobody in the Republican Party seems willing to talk about…the grifter class within the rank and file of the party.
It seems like Democratic politicians and those who are running their campaigns are in it to win. But some believe that the GOP, they are in it to make sure that the consultants are paid first.
Take a look at the cash-on-hand contrast when it comes to candidates in 2022. Raphael Warnock had a two-to-one advantage over his opponent Herschel Walker. Mark Kelly, in Arizona, had more cash on hand than Blake Masters. Catherine Cortez-Masto in Nevada had more cash on hand than Adam Laxalt.
The money that Republican candidates had in 2022 came mostly from PACs and super PACs. The actual candidates themselves were not able to get their hands on very much money at all because it was being controlled by large Republican groups who did the fundraising.
The Republican Party has more than its share of grifter consultants who make sure that they get their checks cleared before anyone finds out who actually wins the political races.
Is it possible that the GOP won’t have real success until they can rid themselves of a consultant group that must get massive pay?
The Democrats are in it to win it, the Republicans are filled with people in it for financial gain.
