Watch: Republican Senators Are Done Playing Games And Send Pelosi An Ultimatum
Senator Josh Hawley and Senate Republicans are done playing games and today issue Pelosi an ultimatum.
On Monday, Hawley and Republican Senators introduced a resolution to dismiss impeachment if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to withhold the article of impeachment that are against the PResident.
“Nancy Pelosi is attempting to obstruct a Senate trial. That’s all there is to it,” Hawley said. “The Constitution says that the Senate is the one that will have the trial. It says the trial will follow the impeachment,” Hawley noted. “Now she’s trying to prevent us in a trial. She’s trying to obstruct it, she’s trying to upend the Constitution.”
“So here’s what I think needs to happen. We need to change the Senate rules to allow the Senate to dismiss this case if she refuses to send the articles over,” he continued.
Pelsoi surprised Washington las month when she decided not to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate. Pelosi said she is going to send the articles of impeachment unless a fair trial can be guaranteed. But, Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell won’t budge. He has flat out stated it is absurd that Pelosi thinks she can run the trial.
