Video: Pelosi In Hot Water After Charges Filed
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just got herself into some serious hot water and is taking heat from both sides of the aisle.
After Pelosi ripped up the President’s State of the Union speech she went too far, even for Democrats. Rep. Lee Zeldin, a prominent democrat congressman, and democratic law professor has come out and denounced Pelosi demanding she step down.
Zeldin was shocked after Pelosi’s actions and wrote, “Nancy Pelosi should step down as Speaker. I’m confident that the American public will be directly sending her that message themselves later this year if she doesn’t read the tea leaves herself and resign on her own terms today. It’s time.”
Jonathan Turley who was a witness in the House impeachment investigation and a George Washington University Law professor went so far as to call Pelosi a troll:
Turley wrote about the first time that he walked onto the floor of the House of Representatives 44 years ago, saying, “The country was deeply divided, but both parties maintained the tradition of civility and decorum. I was struck how members, even in the heat of furious debates, would not attack each other by name and followed rigid principles of decorum. They understood that they were the custodians of this institution and bore a duty to strengthen and pass along those traditions to the next generation.”
Turley continued, “At that moment, she represents the House as an institution — both Republicans and Democrats. Instead, she decided to become little more than a partisan troll from an elevated position. The protests of the Democratic members also reached a new low for the House. Pelosi did not gavel out the protest. She seemed to join it.”
…
That is why I argue in the Hill that, if Pelosi does not apologize and agree to honor the principle of neutrality and civility at the State of the Union, she should resign as speaker.”
Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) along with other GOP congressional leaders have sent a letter addressed to the Ethics Committee Chairman Ted Deutch demanding the Committee open an investigation “into Speaker Pelosi’s flagrant violation of decorum, as defined in clauses 1 and 2 of House Rule XXIII, and request a criminal referral for her potential violation of 18 U.S.C. §2071 (Concealment, removal, or mutilation of documents), following President Trump’s recent State of the Union address of February 4, 2020. Her unseemly behavior certainly warrants censure.”
BREAKING: I’m filing an ethics complaint against @SpeakerPelosi for destroying @realDonaldTrump‘s State of the Union speech.
Her conduct was beneath the dignity of the House, and a potential violation of law (18 USC 2071).
Nobody is above the law. She must be held accountable. pic.twitter.com/dXPPWQNtI8

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) is also introducing a resolution to censure Pelosi.
In response to her classless outburst, I’ve decided to introduce a resolution to censure & condemn Speaker Pelosi.
In a new low, she violated the Code of Official Conduct requiring Members “behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House.” pic.twitter.com/gvf6KWNpSM
