White House Press Secretary and Biden Can’t Get Their ‘Tweet’ Story Straight – Watch
The White House saga about a deleted tweet that was “not complete” continues and White House Press Secretary and President Joe Biden keep digging themselves a deeper and deeper hole.
A reporter questioned Karine Jean Pierre (KJP) did not allow the “not complete” story to fade away. They took aim at the narrative KJP had advanced and noted that the president had made the exact claim that she had said was “not complete.”
Here is some history, on Tuesday, the White House claimed Biden is responsible for the coming increase in Social Security payouts.
“Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership,” the White House tweet claimed.
The White House deleted the post after Twitter users added a fact-check and proved that the increases in Social Security payouts are in place because a law has mandated it so that it is commensurate with increasing inflation.
At the most recent White House press briefing, a reporter asked whether the tweet was taken down “because of the addition of a note, or was it removed because of the concern about the veracity of the message in the tweet?”
“Look, the tweet was not complete,” Jean-Pierre responded. “Usually, when we put out a tweet, we post it with context, and it did not have that context.”
KJP tried to explain that the context is that Medicare premiums will decrease shortly and that “MAGA Republicans” want to cut social safety-net spending that is, in reality, insolvent.
“It did not have that context. It was an incomplete tweet,” the press secretary stated, “and so that’s why you saw the digital team take that action.”
The reporter noted that Biden took credit for the increase in Social Security payouts by claiming that it occurred “on my watch” one time, and “on our watch” another time.
These guys just can’t get their story straight.
Biden social media geniuses are giving Biden credit for the biggest Social Security COLA in 10 years, but neglect to mention that SS COLA is an automatic formula based on government inflation metric (CPI). 🤦♂️ pic.twitter.com/1trGTRI9iV
