White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre Faced with Her Own Words on Stolen Elections – Watch
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is getting used to attempting to defend Biden’s poor choices, but this week Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy made her defend her own poor choices.
Doocy read Jean-Pierre’s own old tweets back to her where she claimed former President Donald Trump stole the 2016 election.
Doocy asked the press secretary about the false claims that the 2016 election was “stolen.” It’s commonly known that the White House is continuing to argue that “MAGA [Make America Great Again] Republicans” pose a threat to democracy. And the Biden Administration is adamant that this stems from claims that the 2020 election was fraudulent.
After Doocy read the 2016 tweets that Jean-Pierre posted herself that said the 2016 election was stolen by Trump and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, he asked, “If denying an election is extreme now, why wasn’t it then?” he asked.
The Press Secretary responded pathetically, “So let’s be very clear that that comparison that you made is just ridiculous.”
“How is that ridiculous?” Doocy interjected.
“You’re asking me a question, let me answer it,” she pushed back. “I was talking specifically at that time of what was happening with voting rights and what was in danger of voting rights. That’s what I was speaking to at the time and here’s the thing, I have said, Governor Kemp won the election in Georgia. I’ve been clear about that. I have said President Trump won the election in 2016 and I’ve been clear about that.”
Jean-Pierre then went on a long rant about what she considers the severity of the January 6 riot. She talked about police officers dying and an insurrection that was an attack on our democracy. And she doubled down, “So yes, when you have MAGA Republicans, an extreme part of Republicans, who just deny or do not want to really say what exactly happened on that day or say it was a protest when it clearly was not a peaceful protest. That’s not what we saw on that day. Yes, the president’s going to call that out.”
What she didn’t do in her rant is answer Doocy’s question.
