Who Thought It Was a Good Idea for Senator Tim Scott to Go on ‘The View?’ – Watch
South Carolina Senator Tim Scott’s appearance on ABC’s The View on Tuesday is hard to figure out. It’s mind boggling to understand why he though it would be a good idea to sit at the desk with five aggressive lifetimes who would stop at nothing in order to embarrass the conservative presidential prospect. It ended in embarrassment after he was repeatedly challenged by the hosts on his conservative views.
One of the early bright spots came when the discussion focused on the idea that the United States is systemically racist. Naturally, Sonny Hostin was leading the charge in asserting that for the panel.
“I’m on the show because of the comments made frankly on this show…the only way for a young African American kid to be successful in this country is to be the exception…? That is a dangerous, offensive, disgusting message…,” Scott said.
Later Scott getting booed by the studio audience for daring to push back on the woke indoctrination of children. And another low spot came when Scott is seen arguing with Hostin while the stage producer comes out to tell him it’s time for a commercial break. He then complains they keep cutting to a commercial break during his answers while the other panelists mock him.
Scott defended his positions, but he was repeatedly interrupted by the hosts. At one point, co-host Sunny Hostin accused Scott of being “out of touch” with the majority of Americans on gun control.
Scott tried to stay calm, but he eventually became visibly frustrated. He accused the hosts of being “hypocritical” for criticizing him for his views while they themselves were allowed to express their own views without interruption.
Scott’s appearance on The View was a reminder of the challenges that conservatives face when they try to engage in civil discourse with liberals. The hosts of The View are known for their aggressive and confrontational style, and they were not interested in having a genuine conversation with Scott.
