Trump Advisor Navarro Op-Ed Jolts Dr. “Doom” Fauci Over Face Mask Policy Debacle
White House Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy Peter Navarro exposed Director of the National institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci in an op-ed on Wednesday.
Navarro detailed his concerns and exposed Fauci mistakes in an op-ed published in USA Today titled: “Anthony Fauci Has Been Wrong About Everything I Have Interacted with Him On”
Particularly, Navarro exposed Fauci face mask policy debacle.
Last month, Dr. Fauci told the press that health experts told the public not to wear masks so there wouldn’t be a shortage of PPE for front line workers.
“We wanted to make sure that the people, namely the health care workers, who were brave enough to put themselves in a harm way, to take care of people who you know were infected with the coronavirus and the danger of them getting infected,” Fauci concluded.
It appears Fauci may have stretched the truth over his explanation over people wearing masks.
Navarro explains Fauci kept flip-flopping over if masks were effective and if the general public should wear them.
“When we were building new mask capacity in record time, Fauci was flip-flopping on the use of masks,” wrote Navarro.
So, it appears that Fauci was telling the public masks weren’t necessary because not to save PPE as he claimed but because he wasn’t sure face masks mattered.
Navarro also wrote that the last straw for him was Fauci downplaying the falling Wuhan virus death rate:
“Now Fauci says a falling mortality rate doesn’t matter when it is the single most important statistic to help guide the pace of our economic reopening. The lower the mortality rate, the faster and more we can open. So when you ask me whether I listen to Dr. Fauci’s advice, my answer is: only with skepticism and caution.”
