You Should Hear What Sen. Cruz Says About Biden’s ‘Pathological’ Stance with Israel
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) won’t stand for the way some Democrats fail to support Israel. He has been and continues to be a staunch ally of the state of Israel.
Cruz lashed out at the Biden Administration for the way it criticized Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. The administration came out against his plan to visit the Temple Mount, Jerusalem’s holiest site.
Last Sunday, the terrorist group Hamas threatened Israel if Ben-Gvir tried to visit the Temple Mount.
Hamas official Harun Nasser El-Din called the government of Israel a government of occupation and said, “The extremist Ben-Gvir is trying to convince his voters that he is implementing his promises by breaking into Al-Aqsa (Mosque).”
He also said that he held the Israeli government responsible for any escalation if there was any damage done to Al-Aqsa (Mosque) or to their people trying to hold on to Jerusalem.
“We call on our people to protect Al-Aqsa (Mosque), and we are sure that our people will thwart all attempts to impose a new reality on Al-Aqsa (Mosque),” El-Din said.
Ben-Gvir tweeted that the Israeli government would not surrender to a “vile murdering organization.” He maintained that the Temple Mount was open to everyone and Hamas should not believe that if they threaten him it would deter the government. He said that times have changed and there is no government in Jerusalem.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy in Israel spoke about Ben-Givr’s 15-minute walk around the Temple Mount and said, “Ambassador Nides has been very clear in conversations with the Israeli government on the issue of preserving the status quo in Jerusalem’s holy sites. Actions that prevent that are unacceptable.”
And a spokesperson for the Biden White House National Security Council spoke in the same vein, “The United States stands firmly for preservation of the status quo with respect to the holy sites in Jerusalem. Any unilateral action that jeopardizes the status quo is unacceptable.”
Sen. Cruz wasn’t having it, he said the Biden administration had a pathological obsession with undermining Israel and that it was endangering the national security of America and our allies. He declared that a minister from Israel’s government to the holiest site in Judaism should not be controversial. And he blasted that statements like these from the White House and State Department further destabilize the Middle East and risk inciting terrorism.
