Carter Claims Questioned After Video
Angel Reese and her Chicago Sky teammates are facing intense scrutiny after alleging harassment, with critics accusing them of being overly sensitive. On social media, the backlash has been severe, with Reese labeled a “hypocritical snowflake” by one user, while another sarcastically commented, “Y’all want to be treated like NBA players and can’t handle ONE person asking questions???? Yeah, WNBA don’t deserve popularity.”
The controversy began when the spotlight on Caitlin Clark brought new attention to the WNBA. This attention led to a wave of outrage following a rough foul by Chennedy Carter of the Sky against Clark. Reese applauded Carter’s actions, further fueling the controversy.
The incident escalated when a video posted on X showed Carter being questioned by an individual as she entered a hotel in Washington, D.C. The person repeatedly asked, “Have you gotten a chance to reach out to Caitlin?” as a security guard intervened. Carter continued into the hotel without responding.
Angel Reese and a bunch of other players on the WNBA’s Chicago Sky claimed that they were “harassed” while getting to their hotel in DC.
Turns the “harassment” was a guy politely asking a question to the chick that hipchecked Caitlin Clark.

Critics argue that WNBA players want the same treatment as NBA players but balk at the public scrutiny that comes with it. Greg Price echoed this sentiment on X, stating, “They demand to be treated the same as NBA players but not with the scrutiny of being a public figure that comes along with it.”
Reese took to social media to voice her frustration, describing the incident as harassment. “[F]inding out our team’s hotel to pull with a camera as we get off the bus and put it in my teammate’s face & HARASS her is NASTY WORK. This really is outta control and needs to STOP,” she posted on X.
Yes we (thankfully) travel with security, but the absurd headlines recently has certainly created an unstable environment for our safety. I’ve been called every racial slur imaginable lately and my teammates have had it even worse.

Sky teammate Michaela Onyenwere also weighed in, calling the incident “extremely weird & crosses the boundaries.” She later added, “Interesting how the video posted was edited and doesn’t include when he harassed our staff while calling us ‘ghetto b******’ and saying ‘women’s sports isn’t s***’. We are not about to normalize things like that.”
Brianna Turner, another Sky player, framed the incident as a matter of racism. “I will not accept racism as ‘part of the game’. No, I’m not sensitive. And no, I won’t simply ignore the ignorant takes I’ve seen. The majority of you commenting could care less about the success of the WNBA and are only concerned with division,” she posted.
Despite these serious allegations, many remain skeptical. Comments like “What a joke!” and similar sentiments flooded social media, reflecting a significant portion of the public’s disbelief.
Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca provided a more measured account, noting that police were not called and the incident “was over as fast as it started,” according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
