Cheney Makes Endorsement
In a surprising political twist, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, despite her previous strong criticisms of Harris’ policies and ideology. Speaking at Duke University, Cheney stressed the importance of preventing Donald Trump from regaining the presidency, which led to her endorsement of Harris, despite their vast ideological differences.
Kamala Harris is a radical liberal who would raise taxes, take away guns & health insurance, and explode the size and power of the federal gov’t. She wants to recreate America in the image of what’s happening on the streets of Portland & Seattle. We won’t give her the chance.

“Because we are here in North Carolina, I think it is crucially important for people to recognize… the danger that Trump poses,” Cheney said. She emphasized the gravity of the moment, stating that voters, particularly in swing states, cannot afford to “write in candidates’ names” as an act of protest. As a staunch defender of the Constitution, Cheney added that she had given this decision much thought. “Because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I’ll be voting for Kamala Harris.”
Don Lemon “People who are convicted, in prison, like the Boston marathon bomber, on death row, people who are convicted of sexual assault, they should be able to vote?”

Cheney’s endorsement comes as a shock, given her previous harsh critiques of Harris during the 2020 election. Back then, Cheney warned that Harris represented a “radical liberal” agenda, accusing her of supporting policies that would raise taxes, limit gun rights, expand the federal government, and bring about a more progressive version of America, one she compared to the protests seen in cities like Portland and Seattle.
Amazing to watch how casually @KamalaHarris lies to this Iowa Senior about health care.
Harris wants us to believe she can impose govt takeover of all health care while allowing current Medicare recipients to keep their coverage.
“I’ll promise you that,” she says. #ItsaLie https://t.co/XvjNuvNPLA

At the time, Cheney was one of the loudest voices warning of Harris’ far-left stances. She criticized Harris for her willingness to allow convicted terrorists the right to vote, calling her position dangerous during a CNN town hall event. Cheney’s rhetoric was sharp, even mocking Harris’ position with a tweet that read, “Coming soon: @KamalaHarris and @BernieSanders launch their ‘Absentee ballots for al Qaeda’ program.” She also lambasted Harris for being deceptive about her healthcare policies and labeled her as having the most extreme record in the U.S. Senate.

Now, despite her previous opposition, Cheney’s focus has shifted entirely toward what she perceives as a more immediate and dangerous threat—Donald Trump. By endorsing Harris, Cheney is making a calculated choice to prioritize the preservation of democracy and the Constitution, even if it means supporting a candidate she fundamentally disagreed with just a few years ago.
