Hunter Biden Discusses Dad During Podcast Interview
OutKick founder Clay Travis said Monday that Hunter Biden’s profanity-laced media blitz may be less about catharsis and more about political ambition—specifically, a potential 2028 presidential run.
In a three-hour interview that aired Monday, Hunter Biden discussed his long-term cocaine addiction and made pointed remarks about President Joe Biden’s use of Ambien ahead of his widely criticized debate with Donald Trump.
Hunter also lashed out at prominent establishment Democrats—targeting figures like George Clooney, David Axelrod, Anita Dunn, and others connected to the Obama administration—accusing them of undermining his father.
Speaking on Fox News’ Will Cain Show, Travis suggested that Hunter’s media appearances are calculated. “Why is Hunter Biden doing this?” Travis asked. “I got a theory. I think Hunter Biden wants to run for president in 2028.”
He clarified that he did not believe the plan was rational, but argued that it could explain the otherwise baffling behavior.
Travis went further, asserting that Hunter suffers from delusions of political grandeur, perhaps viewing himself as the “Biden family savior.” He recalled President Biden once referring to Hunter as the “smartest man he knew,” adding, “I think Hunter, in his mind, thinks he could be president of the United States. And that’s the only reason any of this makes sense.”
Hunter Biden’s recent interviews have been marked by aggressive language. In one segment, he directed multiple expletives at Clooney and CNN’s Jake Tapper, blaming them for the coordinated pressure campaign that led to Joe Biden suspending his 2024 reelection bid.
Travis didn’t spare the broader Democratic establishment from criticism either. “This is the least successful administration in my life,” he said, calling the Biden presidency a “disaster” and crediting Clooney for being one of the few Democrats willing to publicly speak out. “George Clooney was 100% right, and Hunter Biden was 100% wrong.”
The rift between the Biden family and top Democratic allies widened after major outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, published articles in mid-2024 documenting President Biden’s cognitive decline. Despite multiple sources backing the reporting, the coverage faced resistance from mainstream media and top party operatives.
