Jillian Michaels Discusses Inflation With Bill Maher
In a surprising turn of events, liberal commentator Bill Maher has once again ignited controversy by singing the praises of California Governor Gavin Newsom. Known for his outlandish and often delusional progressive policies, Newsom has been a key figure in driving the once-great state of California into the ground. However, for Maher, this seems to be a fact he conveniently overlooks.
During his recent talk show, Maher’s guest Caitlin Flanagan, a writer for The Atlantic, expressed her shock at his praise for Newsom, stating, “I know you like him but I can’t imagine him having the gall to run to lead the country when he’s led this state into the ground.” Flanagan’s sentiment is one shared by many as Newsom’s leadership has been heavily criticized, especially in regards to his handling of the pandemic and the subsequent economic fallout.
Even Maher’s podcast guest, fitness guru Jillian Michaels, could not let his pro-Newsom stance slide without a swift rebuttal. When discussing the current state of the economy, Maher attempted to dismiss concerns over inflation, to which Michaels passionately responded, “Go buy a car. A house. Buy some f***ing eggs!” She went on to explain how prices have tripled in her area and urged Maher to come to terms with the reality that inflation is a major issue for everyday Americans.

Michaels also brought up the origins of the COVID-19 virus, a topic that has been heavily debated and politicized since the beginning of the pandemic. She pointed out the absurdity of the government attempting to gaslight the public by claiming that a virus originating in Wuhan, China, could not possibly have any connection to the Institute of Virology in the same city. This segment was humorous but also served as a reminder of the lack of trustworthiness from those in power, particularly Dr. Anthony Fauci.
It is not the first time Maher has shown signs of being aware of the “BS of progressives,” as Michaels put it. In recent times, he has often been a rare source of reason among the increasingly insane Left. However, his unwavering support of Newsom and dismissal of inflation is indicative of the disconnect between the average American and the elite.
While Maher may be able to brush off concerns about inflation, for the rest of us, it is a significant issue that has greatly affected our lives and standard of living. It is astonishing that someone as seemingly astute as Maher would overlook the experiences of the average American in favor of blindly supporting a politician like Newsom.
In his pursuit of truth and reasoning, Maher has understandably ruffled feathers on both sides of the political spectrum. But in this instance, his inability to see beyond his personal connection to Newsom is a disservice to his audience and the American public.

Michaels’ bold and unapologetic call-out of Maher’s ignorance has earned her praise from viewers and serves as a reminder that not all liberals are blinded by their own ideology. Both she and Flanagan provide a refreshing perspective – one that calls out the failures of those in power, regardless of political affiliation.
As the 2022 midterm elections approach and Newsom faces a recall election, Maher’s endorsement may prove to be a hindrance rather than a help. And while Maher continues to ride the fence of progressive and pragmatic, voices like Michaels and Flanagan provide a much-needed dose of reality. It’s time for those in power, and those in the media who influence public opinion, to stop ignoring the struggles of everyday Americans and start addressing them with honesty and solutions.
